The Pianist

Original Story By: Daphnie Manlapaz

I am Jane Fross. It was 7th in November Year 2003 when we moved in to our new home in California. I have my older sister, Jenny and a younger one, Janine. I still remember when my mom and dad celebrated their 16th anniversary, so they went out for a date. Jenny was still with her friends---at the party actually. My younger sister and I was playing a puzzle in the living room.
I saw the woman in the piano .
If I'm not mistaken, it was around 9:30 in the evening and Janine has a curfew and needs to go to sleep. Jenny was still out of the house, so I am alone downstairs. I am waiting for them to go home, I was looking around the house when I noticed the old piano in a large empty room. It's more like a library because it has many empty bookshelves.
I go towards the piano and I noticed some old paper sheets. I read the paper sheet it says:
"FOR MY DAUGHTER-COMPOSED BY HILLARY CARMENSON YEAR 1935." I was so shocked because of the date! It was very old. but I am still curious so I read the lyrics. It says like this:

"TO MY LITTLE DAUGHTER, I'M SORRY I'D DID THAT. I NEVER MEANT IT, BUT YOU LET ME DO IT. I WAS AFRAID YOU'LL GO TO ME AGAIN, EVERY NIGHT YOU'RE IN MY DREAMS AND MY CONSCIENCE NEVER EASE." I still don't get why it was like that but I felt like someone walk behind me.
I closed the paper sheet and leave it. I left the empty room and I went to the living room again to wait for mom and dad. Then after a while, I heard something, something like a piano, I went to the empty room and for my shockness, I saw a lady sitting in the piano, playing and singing. I guess that's the song I'm reading a while ago.
Did you remember that I already closed the paper sheets? But it was open! I hurriedly screamed and ran so loud and that's the same time mom, dad and Jenny entered the front door. I told them everything but they do not believe me. I cried so hard all night and right before I go to sleep, I saw a girl in a nightgown with a knife stabbed in her heart, bleeding, she was carrying a bloodied teddy bear.
That time, I am paralyzed, but she say something:
"MOM, I MISSED MY BED, THIS BED WHERE YOU HAVE NO MERCY KILLING ME. I ALWAYS HEAR THE SONG YOU MADE FOR ME AND NOW I FORGIVE YOU AND I WILL NOW REST I'M VERY TIRED MOMMY AND THANK YOU." then she just vanished into thin air.
I ran downstairs and I went to the empty room, I searched for clues and there's an old notebook in one of those empty bookshelves. I opened it at the middle part of the notebook here it says:
"TONIGHT IS NOVEMBER 5TH YEAR 1935, 17TH BIRTHDAY OF MY ONLY DAUGHTER, HANNAH CARMENSON. I BOUGHT HER A NEW NIGHTGOWN AND A TEDDY BEAR.WE BOTH BAKED A CAKE AND SLICED IT WITH A BIG KNIFE. SOMEONE CALLED IN THE TELEPHONE AND I REVEALED THAT MY DAUGHTER HAVE HER OWN BOYFRIEND! BUT I ALREADY TOLD HER THAT SHE IS NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE A BOYFRIEND UNTIL THE AGE OF EIGHTEEN. BUT SADLY, SHE DISOBEYED HER OWN MOTHER. I REALLY CAN'T CONTROL MYSELF IN MADNESS, I STABBED THE BIG KNIFE WE USE IN THE CAKE, I STABBED IT TO HER HEART, IN HER BED WHERE WE CHASED EACH OTHER."
I was very shocked about what I read but when I turn the next page, there is another note written:
"TONIGHT IS NOVEMBER 7TH, YEAR 1935. MY CONSCIENCE IS KILLING ME. EVERY TIME I PLAY MY UNTITLED SONG, I CAN'T FORGIVE MYSELF. TONIGHT I'M GOING TO KILL MYSELF. I WANTED TO BE WITH MY DAUGHTER AND I WANTED HER TO FORGIVE ME." I was curious and turned the page once more. There, I saw an old photo of  a bloodied girl lying on the bed with a knife stabbed in her heart. I thought she's Hannah Carmenson.
I turned the page again but it was no more post and blank. I was still interested and I wanted to find out what happened. I searched for clues again, trying to look behind the empty bookshelves and even under the piano even though I'm scared. I went to my room and find if there's some clue there. I found out a photo and a big knife under my bed.
I looked at the photo, It was a photo of a lady hanging in the cieling with a rope tied on her neck. I look around where in the part of the house the photo was taken and the setting is into my room!
The photo was taken above the bed where the girl's dead body is lying.
I accidentally looked through the calendar hanged at the back of my door.
It was NOVEMBER 7, 1935.
I checked my phone and it has the same date!
